WelcomeThe International Centre for Caribbean Language Research Working Group (ICCLR) welcomes you to our official website, created to highlight and promote Language Rights in the Creole-speaking Caribbean. The ICCLR is made up of a group of international scholars, based in the Caribbean and around the world, who research Caribbean languages and are committed to promoting the rights of speakers of these languages. This website originally showcased its January 13-14, 2011 International Conference on Language Rights and Language Policy in the Creole-speaking Caribbean held in Kingston, Jamaica. The site has now been revised and expanded to capture the ongoing work of the ICCLR and the range of follow up activities associated with the January 2011 conference. The ICCLR is coordinated from the Jamaica Language Unit/ Unit for Caribbean Research (JLU/UCLR), at the Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies.
